We’ll have a lot more information and details to share with you in the coming months, starting at E3 2017 where we plan to reveal a brand-new demo showcasing one of the non-VR missions in ACE COMBAT 7 for the first time ever! Now Playing: Ace Combat 7: 12 Minutes Of Aerial Action Gameplay - E3 2017 Ace Combat 7 was originally slated to arrive later this year, but Bandai Namco recently delayed the title to 2018. At no other time in ACE COMBAT’s 20+ year history has gaming technology allowed us to deliver the minute details of flight combat – such as cloud cover and air currents – or give players a new way to experience dogfights and attack sorties through hardware such as the new PlayStation VR. The combination of the Unreal 4 Engine and the power of current generation consoles and PC hardware have literally opened the “skies of opportunity” to us to develop the best ACE COMBAT experience to-date. We take our art very seriously and that means we have instead chosen to devote additional time and effort to perfect and optimize this newest chapter of the ACE COMBAT saga. We would have loved to launch ACE COMBAT 7 at the end of 2017 as we originally intended, but doing so would compromise our goal for the game. To reach that vision, we have decided to move the launch of ACE COMBAT 7 to 2018. The Project ACES team and I have been working hard on ACE COMBAT 7 and we’re determined to achieve the vision we have set for the game. With Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown slated for a release on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, some time in 2018, Bandai Namco will be hoping that it can rectify the mistakes that it made with its. I wanted to take this opportunity to speak with you directly, our loyal ACE COMBAT fans, and give you a first-hand update on the launch timing for ACE COMBAT 7: SKIES UNKNOWN. Fans of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will still have to wait until 2018 to play the game, but that isn’t stopping Bandai Namco from putting out another trailer for it in time for E3. Producer Kazutoki Kono sent a message to the fans to explain the delay, citing the determination to achieve the original vision set for the game. Available January 18th, 2019 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and February 1st, 2019 on Steam. While some of the Ace Combat games change their setting back and forth between being in the real world and being set in an alternate universe known as Strangereal, this latest installation in the series will return to the near-Earth universe that allows developer Project Aces and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment to give the game an altered history and other similar changes.Today Bandai Namco announced via press release that its upcoming air combat game Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown has been delayed to a 2018 release window. Vast deserts, seemingly endless bodies of water, and sprawling cities are just a few of the areas that will be seen from high above. Several scenes can be seen in the trailer that show different settings players can expect to be dog-fighting above. ![]() After all, most people who are looking to play Ace Combat 7 are more than likely looking to shoot down some aircraft and wage war from above, so as long as that part can hold up, issues with dialogue and story may not stand out quite as much. While the game's trailer doesn't actually show much in the way of player-controlled gameplay, the cinematic scenes look pretty fantastic being built with Unreal Engine 4, even if they are somewhat weighed down by the lofty questions being asked by the characters shown in the trailer. ![]()
